10 Unique Wedding Ceremony Ideas

Just having your wedding in Lake Tahoe can be unique enough, but there are special little touches you can put in your wedding no matter where it is.  Here are Lakefront Wedding of Tahoe’s unique wedding ceremony ideas:

This unique tradition is a special way to make your guests feel a part of your ceremony. There are different ways to go about a ring lake tahoe weddingswarming, but in general, the minister will announce at the beginning of the ceremony that the rings will be placed in a small bag or bowl and passed around prior to the ring exchange so that each guest can say a blessing or prayer over the bride and groom. The rings will then be brought back to the officiant to be  exchanged.

Marriage is a journey and we all need people to come along side us and give us advice of what that journey is going to look like or what can help us along. During a section of the ceremony the minister can invite selected family members, Friends, or influential people in either the bride or groom’s lives, who are already married, to stand or come forward to offer advice to the newly weds.

A few days before your ceremony, both the bride and groom will write love letters to each other and seal them up. On the day of your weddings in lake tahoewedding and during the ceremony, place the letters along with a bottle of wine in a wooden box. Each take a turn hammering in one nail at a time until the box is closed. The minister will have explained the process and importance of the box and that on the significant date that you have chosen, an anniversary for example, the box will be opened. The box can also be opened before if you hit a rough patch in your marriage. The letters can be read, the wine poured, and you will be reminded of just how you felt for each other just days before your wedding.

Having a dad, mom, or other special person hand off the bride at the beginning of a ceremony is a beautiful and special event. One of the ways you can say thank you or how much you appreciate that person is to have the minister announce that the bride has a gift for that person and give to them a embroidered handkerchief with a small message of gratitude and love.

The people you invite to your wedding are the people who mean the most to you in your life. A fun idea is to have the minister announce a moment of silence as part of your ceremony. At this time the minister can as the audience to offer a silent blessing or prayer towards you as the bride and groom.

After the heart felt vows are said and after the rings are exchanged comes one of the best parts; “You may now kiss your bride!” This is weddings in tahoesuch a fun and beautiful thing and an idea to make that moment even more exciting is to, before the ceremony, hand out an item of your choice to your guests, such as bubbles, flower petals, or confetti. Then when the time for the kiss comes, announce that it is time for celebration and your guest can let their confetti, or bubbles fly!

Sometimes a song or a poem can say things in a way that touches much deeper than other ways. Having a groom sing to his bride or bide to the groom is always a special addition to a ceremony. Having a song played through a track or a friend sing the couple’s favorite song can make a memory that will last a lifetime.

No, we’re not saying to say your vows to each other via Skype!  Sometimes not all of our loved ones are able to come to your special day because they live in another country or state, or even sickness that holds them away from your ceremony. Setting up a computer and connecting through Skype is a great way to stay connected and let everyone you love experience one of the biggest days of your life. The minister can even mention the loved ones who are attending through Skype and it is a way to make those guests feel special and a part of the ceremony.

Unique to the Chinese culture, a traditional tea ceremony is performed to show respect for the families of the bride and groom. Historically, this ceremony is done after the bride and groom have said their vows, the couple would then serve tea to the groom’s family (the bride would have served her own family that morning). However, today many couples choose to honor both families by serving both sets of parents during the ceremony.

One cute idea for a unique wedding ceremony is to hand out ceremony favors when guests arrive. Ideas may include a paper fan, a handkerchief, or a copy of the written vows that are to be read. This is a fun and cute idea to leave your guests with a little something to remember your special day.
